About Harrison Technology Consulting: Harrison Technology Consulting was founded January 1st, 1990 under the name Data Works by Jason Harrison. Since the beginning, our mission has been to provide our clients with professional information technology services.
We typically serve small to medium sized organizations in the Eastern North Carolina region. The average small to medium sized organization has limited information technology resources available to them. Normally there is little or no on staff IT professionals and our goal is to provide these businesses with access to professional information technology services when and how they need them.
In the early 1990's our primary focus was helping clients install and configure computer based accounting and business management solutions. During this time we also began focusing on the emerging PC based graphical user interface technologies being pioneered by Microsoft. We also began helping our clients design and deploy networking systems.
In 1994 to 1995 we expanded our service offerings to include custom application development and custom solutions based on the Microsoft Office business productivity suit of applications. We also began integrating Internet services into our clients existing systems introducing them to the World Wide Web and Internet E-Mail. Around this time we also began aggressively deploying mobile solutions based on notebook PC technology.
In 1997 we continued to expand our range of services by introducing smaller companies to the power of client / server computing. This included integrated group collaboration, e-mail, and fax server systems and more powerful database technologies. This time period also marked our entry into helping our clients plan, build, deploy, and manage their own web sites.
From 1998 to 2000 we expanded our services to include Y2K readiness, digital photography solutions and scanning / document imaging solutions. This time period also ushered in our working with clients to adopt and deploy Personal Digital Assistants (PDA's).
In 2000 and 2001 we began helping clients plan for and deploy broadband Internet Access technologies such as DSL, Cable Modem, and Satellite systems.
In 2002 we added consulting, integration, and support for Tablet PCs and a broad array of wireless networking and connectivity devices.
In 2003 we were invited by Microsoft to lead two small business case studies as part of a special rapid adoption program based on Microsoft Office System 2003 and Microsoft Small Business Server 2003. Ultimately the two solutions we created for two of our clients were both featured at the national launch events for both products. Having our solutions placed on the national stage generated a lot of media attention across the web and in some printed industry publications such Small Business Computing, Computer Reseller News, VARBusiness Magazine and others.
All during our history we have continued to help our clients through the constantly shifting landscape of information technology solutions. We look forward to continuing our quest of keeping our clients in the know on what technologies are best suited for their organizations.
